Dr. Heather Lundy is a licensed psychologist with a deep commitment to supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of children, adolescents, and young adults. Her clinical expertise spans autism spectrum disorders, emotional and behavioral challenges, depression, anxiety, and social skills development. She also works closely with families navigating academic and behavioral concerns within school environments.
 
Dr. Lundy offers a tailored therapeutic approach that blends child-centered play therapy with structured interventions for children and teens, and talk therapy for young adults. Her practice includes individual therapy and school-related consultation services, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and empowerment for both students and their families.

Background

An Athens native, Dr. Lundy brings over two decades of experience to her work, including 16 years as a school psychologist. Her professional journey has been shaped by a passion for advocacy, education, and community care. She is especially skilled in helping families understand and navigate complex educational systems, including Response to Intervention (RTI), Section 504 accommodations, special education eligibility, and the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Her knowledge of Georgia special education law and her dedication to upholding student and parent rights make her a trusted resource for families seeking guidance and support.
 
Dr. Lundy is a proud member of the American Psychological Association and the Georgia Association for Play Therapy.
 
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Lundy enjoys spending quality time with her family, exploring new places through travel, attending live concerts, diving into a good book, and proudly cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.

Education

Dr. Lundy earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Georgia, followed by M.Ed. and Ed.S. degrees in School Psychology from Georgia Southern University. She later completed her Ph.D. in School Psychology at Georgia State University, further deepening her clinical and research expertise. Her postdoctoral training included work in both private practice and public-school settings, enriching her understanding of diverse therapeutic and educational contexts.

To ensure we can serve all clients effectively, we require 24-hour advance notice for cancellations so we can offer your time slot to others who need it. There is no charge for appointments canceled with 24 or more hours notice. However, cancellations with less than 24 hours notice or missed appointments will result in a $50 fee to cover the reserved session time.
