Our Story
Athena Psychological Associates was born from the shared vision of Dr. Irvine and Dr. Lundy—two women, mothers, and seasoned clinicians with a deep passion for mental health and community care. With decades of combined experience in clinical psychology, they set out to create a practice that reflects both their expertise and their values.
The name “Athena” holds special meaning. As the Greek goddess of wisdom and strategy, Athena symbolizes empowered women who use knowledge to uplift others. Her association with owls—creatures often linked to insight and intuition—resonated deeply with both founders, who share a love for animals and a belief in the healing power of connection.
From this inspiration, Athena Psychological Associates was formed, complete with a quirky owl theme that reflects the warmth, wisdom, and welcoming spirit of the practice. It’s more than a name—it’s a tribute to thoughtful care, compassionate leadership, and the belief that knowledge can transform lives.

Bella “Roux” Lassie
Austin Henry
We’re delighted to introduce our cherished canine companions, Bella “Roux” Lassie and her younger brother, Austin. These two bring warmth, joy, and a touch of playful charm to our practice every day.
Roux, the wise and nurturing older sibling, takes her unofficial role as office supervisor quite seriously. She excitedly escorts clients to therapy rooms, graciously accepts pets and kisses, and enjoys well-deserved naps between her rounds.
Austin, on the other hand, is our resident ball of energy. With a heart full of curiosity and a knack for finding fun, he loves engaging with clients, chewing on his favorite toys, and occasionally stirring up a little mischief.
Like many children, Roux and Austin are still learning to make thoughtful choices—but their enthusiasm and affection never fail to brighten our days. They’re an integral part of our team and look forward to welcoming you with wagging tails and warm hearts.
